About Evolve · 2026

A quieter way to talk about food and health

We make room for evidence, lived experience and the questions that do not fit neatly into a headline.

Why this publication exists

Evolve was created for readers who want health information that is useful without being alarmist. Our editorial pages discuss diet alongside clinical care, social circumstances, movement, sleep and medication. We do not diagnose, sell supplements or promise outcomes.

Our UK focus helps us use familiar services, food language and signposting. It does not replace a conversation with a GP, pharmacist, dietitian or other qualified professional.

Our editorial method

Read widely

We compare public health guidance, recognised clinical sources and the limits of available evidence.

Write plainly

We explain terms and avoid language that makes a complex condition sound like a personal failure.

Review carefully

Articles are checked for clarity, date-sensitive guidance and appropriate professional signposting.

What readers can expect

Good information should leave you better prepared for a conversation, not pressured into a decision.

Evidence and commissioning detail

Editors separate reported facts, interpretation and practical context. A source is considered in relation to its date, purpose, methods and relevance to UK readers rather than accepted solely because it is frequently cited. Where evidence is limited or mixed, the wording reflects that uncertainty and avoids turning an association into a personal instruction.

Commissioned contributions are reviewed for clarity, conflicts and unsupported statements before publication. Contributors are asked to disclose relevant professional, commercial or personal interests. A disclosure does not automatically prevent publication, but it is considered when deciding the format, wording and need for additional independent checking.

Corrections and reader feedback

Readers can report a factual error, broken source or material omission by contacting Evolve at 78 Regent Street, Manchester, Greater Manchester, M14 4GP, or on 0161 748 6329. Please identify the page, explain the concern and include a reliable source where possible. We aim to acknowledge a report within five working days and assess substantive corrections within 20 working days.

When a correction changes meaning, we add a clear note to the affected page and record the date of change. Minor spelling or link repairs may be made without a public note where the meaning remains unchanged. Editorial correspondence is normally retained for 24 months; a formal complaint record may be kept for up to six years when needed for accountability.

Review record

  • 5 October 2026 — policy reviewed for sourcing, conflicts and correction handling.
  • 5 October 2026 — contributor disclosure and reader response procedures clarified.

This policy covers how Evolve plans, researches, writes, reviews, updates and corrects editorial pages. It applies to staff, freelancers and commissioned contributors working on articles, guides, explainers and summaries. It does not turn an external source into an Evolve publication, and it does not prevent a reader from forming a different view after reviewing the cited material.

Editors distinguish reported information from commentary and practical context. They consider the date, jurisdiction, purpose, methodology and limitations of a source, and they avoid presenting an association as a personal outcome. Where a topic is uncertain or evidence is mixed, the wording states that limitation and avoids a level of certainty that the material cannot support.

Contributors are asked to disclose relevant employment, financial, organisational or personal interests. A disclosure is recorded with the commissioning material and considered when deciding whether additional checking, a second contributor or a clearer label is appropriate. Sponsored material is handled under the advertising policy and is not allowed to set the conclusions of an independent article.

Readers may report a factual error, outdated source, misleading omission or accessibility problem to 78 Regent Street, Manchester, Greater Manchester, M14 4GP, or 0161 748 6329. We normally acknowledge a report within five working days and review substantive issues within 20 working days. A correction that changes meaning is dated on the page; minor spelling, formatting or link repairs may be made without a separate notice.

Editorial review records and source notes are normally retained for 24 months after an article is withdrawn or substantially replaced. A complaint or correction record may be retained for up to six years where needed for accountability or legal purposes. The policy was reviewed on 5 October 2026, and future changes will be dated so that readers can identify the version used when a decision was made.
